People oftentimes ask me for book recommendations, but I've never felt comfortable about setting myself up as some sort of authority on books. Other than my keen intelligence, exceptional taste, and exemplary humility, I am sadly ill-equipped to tell people what to read. Rather, I'm more interested in what other people have to say about what they have been reading.
In order to coax more people to share which books have made their reading much more pleasant lately, let me share a short list of books that I haven't read, but probably will, if only to justify the frequent bouts of impulse shopping that I am afflicted with every single time that I pass by Fully Booked in Bonifacio High Street.
1. The Yiddish Policeman's Union.
2. The Dragon Waiting.
3. Lud-in-the-Mist.
What's on queue with you?
Cover of The Dragon Waiting comes courtesy of Fantastic Fiction.

Me too. I used to keep a handy list on my old phone. Now I need to dig it up and transfer to the one I'm using now!
Right now i've got Neverwhere, The Historian, The Ink Keeper's Apprentice and The Dark is Rising Vol 2 in queue. haha.
And I'm currently reading Sandman Vol 3: Dream Country.
Except for Neverwhere and The Ink Keeper's Apprentice, the books are courtesy of Ria Cayton, Roving Bookstore. (she's helping mikey dosdos sell some of his books and i bought those. haha.)
Currently 100-odd pages into The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. Then The Yiddish Policeman's Union awaits, as does Murakami's Kafka on the Shore.
But I'll probably hold off on those depending on the timing because of other stuff I intend to pick up. Thursday Next: First Among Sequels will be out in paperback in time for my next roundtrip States-side. I also intend to pick up I.J. Parker's The Hell Screen (A Sugawara Akitada Mystery) while I'm at it.
Jasper Fforde! Good recommendation there, Brian. Alexis, I enjoyed The Historian, and I hope you do too.
Again, I am touched by the attention of my fellow nerds. More good reads, please! ;-)
Ever thought of opening a Goodreads.com account so that people can follow the stuff you've read?
